Sunday service Falmouth Methodist Church: Sunday 23rd April 2023
Report on the Sunday service for Falmouth Methodist Church: Sunday 23rd April 2023
Meeting at New Street in the KCM church hall, Miss A Jenkin, Local Preacher, welcomed everyone to the Falmouth Methodist Church service. The service began with the first hymn, ‘The Day of Resurrection’ played by Mr David Collins.
Opening prayers centred around the phrase, ‘you stand amongst us now’ and this was followed by Miss Jenkin leading three worship songs on the guitar.
The first reading was taken from Isaiah chapter 12, read by Mrs Val Thorne entitled ‘A Hymn of Thanksgiving.’ The gospel reading, read by June Martin, was taken from Luke 24: beginning at verse 13. In her sermon Miss Jenkin discussed walking and talking, developing this analogy to encompass the gospel reading The Road to Emmaus where Jesus walked unrecognised with followers who had lost all confidence following the crucifixion. She then drew a parallel between the gospel message and our own lives suggesting that we take any lack of confidence, sadness, grief, or anything else to Jesus. The service concluded with the hymn ‘There is a Redemer.’
IF you would like to join us for worship at the KCM church hall in New Street we meet every Sunday morning at 10.30am.
Next Sunday our service will begin at 10.30 led by visiting preacher Revd. Will Fletcher
Online services are still available for those who cannot attend the service in church and can be found from a link on the Falmouth and Gwennap Circuit website, http://fandgmc.org.uk. The services are available from 10.30am each Sunday morning.
