You are welcome to join us for worship. Our Sunday Services are held at New Street Church Hall, which is in New Street, just behind the Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr.

Regular Activities

Stitchcraft: meet at the Princess Pavilion every Monday at 2pm. New members’ welcome.

Footsteps Café: Falmouth & Penryn Churches Together coffee morning, Footsteps is held every Thursday in the foyer of Emmanuel Baptist Church from 10-12 noon.  Hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes available.  All are welcome.

 Wednesday Welcome: meets on the first Wednesday in the month. The next date is on October 2nd it will be held at the Greenbank Hotel Please speak to, or telephone Jeanette to book.

 

Mid-week Holy Communion at New Street

On: Thurs 3rd October at 10.30 am

Midweek communion at New Street. KCM members will also be invited to join us. A midweek communion service will be held on the first Thursday of each month, being led alternately by a Methodist minister and an Anglican priest, with both congregations warmly invited to join us.

Homes & Gardens: Saturday 7th September 2.30-5pm at the home of Jane Bennett.

Feet on the Street: You are warmly invited to Feet on the Street Commissioning Service on Saturday 7th September at 7pm hosted by the Salvation Army, Brook Street, Falmouth, organized by Churches Together

FMC AGM:  Sunday 8th September ALL are welcome to attend this meeting which will take place straight after our morning service.

Churches Together: There will be a united Churches Together service on Sunday 8th September at 7pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Circuit Zoom Prayer Meeting  You are invited to join on the first and third Tuesday of each month - 6.15 for 6.30pm. Revd. Jonathan will email the joining link to 'regulars' but if you would like to join please email Jonathan for the link.

Future Planning for FMC: on Thursday 12th September at 2.15pm. Following the successful meeting with Charlotte Betts earlier this year ALL are invited to take part and contribute to this important meeting about the future of FMC. Do come along and share your ideas.

Fairtrade stall will be available every second Sunday following our morning service. Nona.

Cake Stall: On the third Sunday of each month there will be a cake stall to raise funds for the church. Homemade cakes only £1.50 a slice.

Church Family Lunch: All are welcome! Sunday 15th September at the Falmouth Hotel, 12.30 for 1pm. Please book with Jeanette by 1st September. Payment also needed by 1st September, 2 courses £23.50, 3 courses £28.00, (Not before 1st Sept if paying online).

 

MWiB: Cornwall & IoS Methodist Women in Britain Autumn District Day Inauguration of New President Mrs Bren Stuart-White & Mrs Louise Froggatt as Vice-President.  Speaker: Julian Waring -  Fundraising Manager Fishermen’s Mission  Tuesday 17th September United Church Dobwalls PL16 6NS 10.00 – 4pm followed by a cream tea.                                                    

                                                                 

Coffee & Cakes: David & Gillian invite you to their home for coffee and cakes on Thursday 19 September from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm. Donations to the talent bag fund.

 

Harvest Festival Sunday 29th September at KCM:  For our Harvest Festival we will join with our friends at KCM for a joint service led by Revd. Andrew Mumford. This will be followed by a pasty & sweet lunch tickets on sale for £6 each. Please speak to church stewards for more information.

Being the Still Centre on the Radical Edge, 27-29 September. I am getting together a group of people locally to take part, on zoom, in Green Christian’s hybrid reflective weekend of prayer, reflection and worship on 27-29 September for more information please speak to Nona Wright.  

Blue velvet fundraising bags: How are you getting on with your personal fundraising project?  We are now more than halfway through the fundraising period.  We plan to collect the contents on Advent Sunday - the bag is yours to keep!! If you have come up with some imaginative fundraising ideas, please share them with each other.  I know that donations for car lifts have been popped into the blue bags.  I often 'dog sit' for my son and I have proffered the bag for a donation or two!  Please keep up the good work and share with us all.  From Jane B and the FMC Fundraising Team.                   .

 

 

Future Dates:

Eco Group Litter Pick: Saturday 5th October from 10am – 12 midday, meeting at Permarin Car Park in Penryn behind the shops in the main street. Please note that charges apply in this council car park.

Eco Church Next Meeting: Thursday 10th October 11am at Emmanuel Baptist Church following on from Footsteps Café. All are welcome to join us!

 

ECO News

With an urgent need to restore the Chao Praya River an abbot in the Thai capital began recycling in his temple. They now collect 300 tonnes of plastic a year. Along with the organisation Seven Clean Seas they have now launched a solar-powered boat to remove plastic from one of Bankok’s busiest waterways.

Live like a Spartan!

Most of us already have more stuff than we need!  Underconsumption is a TikTok trend now, but could it become something you could try? Why not try it for a month and see how you get on from reusing that teabag to looking for second-hand alternatives.
