Mid-week Holy communion at New Street

 3rd September it will be led by Rev Adam Dunning, the Rector of KCM.

Midweek communion at New Street. KCM members will also be invited to join us. A midweek communion service will be held on the first Thursday of each month, being led by a Methodist minister with an invitation to both congregations.

Regular Activities

Stitchcraft: meet at the Princess Pavilion every Monday at 2pm. New members’ welcome.

Footsteps Café: Falmouth & Penryn Churches Together coffee morning, Footsteps is held every Thursday in the foyer of Emmanuel Baptist Church from 10-12 noon.  Hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes available.  All are welcome.

 Wednesday Welcome: meets on the first Wednesday in the month and will be held on the 2nd Sept Linden Hay,7th Oct Greenbank Hotel, 4th November Carnon Downs, 2nd Dec Princess Pavilion. Meet at 2.00pm, book with Jeanette.

Other Notices:

Café Worship venue: Please note that Café Worship on September the 6th & October the 4th will be held at The Park Centre. In September the service will be led by the Café Worship Team & in October the service will be led by the Eco Team.

Ukulele Concert: We are pleased to announce that the concert held at The Membly Hall Hotel raised £565 to be shared between ShelterBox & the FMC Park Centre build project. Thanks to all of our bakers for the wonderful cakes, The Recycled Ukulele Band for generously giving their time free of charge to play for us, and thanks to the family and staff at the hotel for hosting the event free of charge. We hope to organise another concert in December so watch this space!

Proposed date for FMC AGM: following our morning worship service, on Sunday 27th September. All our church family are warmly invited to attend. Please note that this date will be confirmed by the Duty Steward the week before.

Circuit Zoom Prayer Meeting:   You are invited to join on the first and third Tuesday of each month - 6.15 for 6.30pm. Revd. Jonathan will email the joining link to 'regulars' but if you would like to join please email Jonathan for the link.

Fairtrade stall: Our regular stall will be available every second Sunday following our morning service, Nona.

Foodbank: There is still great need locally for your donations. All items that you donate will be greatly received.

The Falmouth & Penryn Christians Together meeting of the Justice & Peace group will take in the form of a Prayer Walk in Tregoniggie Woodland, followed by tea and cake at the home of Euan McPhee & Nona Wright. Meet at the Nursery (50metres down the path into Tregoniggie Woodland from Venton Road, opposite Polventon Close) on Tuesday 8 September at 14.00. All welcome! Any queries, contact Euan.

 

Antron Manor Care Home, Mabe: Rev Andrew and I have led services at Antron Manor for a number of years. We have now been given responsibility for all the monthly services.  The services take place on the third Tuesday, so the September service will be on the 15th.  It would be encouraging if one or two people from FMC could be there to join the service. Thank you, Jonathan.

 

Congratulations to Gillian & David Collins. On the 25th of September David & Gillian celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. They would love their church friends to join them for coffee & cake at Fairwinds from 10am-12pm or at their home, West Haven, West End, Penryn from 2-4pm. They request no presents please.

 

Friday Morning Friends at Fairwinds: Friday 25th September from 10am. All are welcome. Hot drinks and homemade cakes.

 

Eco Group Litter Pick: Our next litter pick will take place on Friday 1st October 2.30pm – 4.30pm, tabards will be provided by the church. This will take place around our new building, The Park Centre, and surrounding area We aim to spend 1 hour litter picking and then reconvene at TPC for tea and cake. All members of the church family are invited to join us.

Church Sunday Lunch: 11th October at The Falmouth Hotel. More details nearer the time.

Cake Stall: On the third Sunday of each month there will be a cake stall to raise funds for the church. Homemade cakes only £1.50 a slice.

PRAYER LIFEBOAT: If you would like a prayer for a friend or relation who is very poorly at home, or in hospital, please ring me on  if there is no reply, please leave a message. I will then pass this request on to all the others on the Lifeboat list. Thank you. Moira McCullough

In our prayers

we continue to hold the following before God: we pray for Bruce and Shirley Keer, Gwen Dunstan, John Cottrell, Gill Wilkinson, Karina Bakken, Sandy Whyte and the residents and staff of care homes, especially Langholme.

We continue to pray for all those that are no longer able to attend church.

Thank You Space:

In this section of our church notices, we would like to thank those who do so much for our church family. Our focus this month is on those who organise and lead the Friday Morning Friends Team. From baking the cakes, to pouring the teas, to organising the rota, thank you for creating a warm & friendly space.

These notices will be updated once a month, so please hold onto them, do not delete them, until you get a revised version. That will save us time and money in unnecessary reprinting and will do another small bit for the environment, they are also published on our church website.
