FMC & KCM Leadership Meeting: Tuesday 23rd September at 09.30am.

FMC Sound System: During some services you may have noticed some feedback on our sound system which can be uncomfortable to the ears as it tends to be high pitched! This disruption is generally caused by hearing aids interacting with the speakers. We would therefore like to request that those of our church family that wear hearing aids do not adjust them during more sensitive parts of our services particularly during the prayers and sermon. Thank you from the Sound Team.

Bible Month Bible Study:   I plan to lead a group for four weeks in October, using the Bible Month resources on the Gospel of John. The dates I am looking at are Friday 10th October (to avoid Penmorvah MWIB) then Thursdays 16th, 23rd and 30th October at 2.30pm. If you would like to attend but would need transport, then please speak to a Church Steward. More details nearer the time, Jonathan.

New Monthly Bible Study for the Advent:  Many expressed the desire to have more Bible study/House Groups. Sarah, Louise and Jo would be willing to host and run this at their homes. We would aim for a small group to begin with and then split into more groups as the need arises. We will search for appropriate resource materials and there will be a small charge for the books that we would follow in the group/s.  If you are interested in this then please give your name to Sarah Smith.

Friday Morning Friends at Fairwinds: 28th September from 10am. All are welcome. Hot drinks and homemade cakes.

Cake Stall: On the third Sunday of each month there will be a cake stall to raise funds for the church. Homemade cakes only £1.50 a slice.

PRAYER LIFEBOAT: If you would like a prayer for a friend or relation who is very poorly at home, or in hospital, please ring me, if there is no reply, please leave a message. I will then pass this request on to all the others on the Lifeboat list. Thank you. Moira McCullough

Fairtrade stall will be available every second Sunday following our morning service. Nona.

Eco News: Wet Wipe Horror!

Imagine it or see it for yourself online. “Wet Wipe Island” is London’s newest – and grimmest – landmark as reported by The Guardian. ‘Two tennis courts’ worth of wet wipes have accumulated in a rotting pile by Hammersmith Bridge.’ ‘Imagine several mounds of congealed grot (consistency akin to the insides of a leisure centre shower drain, or the world’s most disgusting pedal bin) washed up on the southern foreshore of the River Thames in London at low tide.’

This may seem far removed from us, however we can all do our bit by purchasing eco friendly products and disposing of our waste responsibly.   On the Cornwall Council website, the advice that they give is as follows:

‘Baby wipes, cosmetic wipes, bathroom cleaning wipes and moist toilet tissues are not recyclable. They are also not flushable even though some labels say they are. They, should always be placed in your rubbish bin.’

Useful information

There are a range of reusable and washable make up remover pads available to purchase online. Alternatively, you can make your own by repurposing an old item of clothing.

The next edition of the notices will be available from Sunday 5th October 2025. Please send any items for inclusion to Sarah    before  Wednesday 1st October 2025. These notices will be updated once a month, so please hold onto them, do not delete them, until you get a revised version. That will save us time and money in unnecessary reprinting and will do another small bit for the environment, they are also published on our church website. If you have any additional notices for the month of then please email me and the Duty Steward will announce them on the relevant Sunday. Thank you.
