Falmouth Methodist Church

Notices for 10th & 17th September 2023 

 Minister: Revd. Jonathan Froggatt

  You are welcome to join us for worship. Our Sunday Services are held at New Street Church Hall, which is in New Street, just behind the Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr. Our services for this month are:

Sunday 10th September 10.30am:  Worship led by Revd. Jonathan Froggatt including Holy Communion

At Langholme:  Worship led by Revd. Jonothan Froggatt

 

Sunday 17th September : Harvest Festival Worship led by Revd. Jonathan Froggatt. This will be a joint Harvest Festival service with our friends at KCM. This will be followed by a bring and share lunch.  We have been asked to bring the sweets and KCM will bring the savoury course.

At Mawnan Smith 10.30am:   Worship led by Miss Jean Whetham

At Langholme: Worship led by Miss Jean Whetham

After Sunday services, refreshments are served. Please stay and take the opportunity to have a chat and get to know us better.

Thursday 21st September 10.30am: Mid-week Holy Communion

Sunday 24th September 10.30am: Worship led by Miss Jean Whetham

Sunday 1st October 10.30am: Worship led by the Café Worship Team        

                                                           

Midweek communions- at New Street. KCM members will also be invited to join us. Midweek communion services are on the first and third Thursdays of each month, being led alternately by a Methodist minister and an Anglican priest, with both congregations warmly invited to join us.

Regular activities:

Stitchcraft: meet at the Princess Pavilion every Monday at 2pm. New members’ welcome.

Footsteps Café: Falmouth & Penryn Churches Together coffee morning, Footsteps is held every Thursday in the foyer of Emmanuel Baptist Church from 10-12 noon.  Hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes available.  All are welcome.

Wednesday Welcome: meets on the first Wednesday in the month. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday 4th October we will be meeting at The Greenbank Hotel at 3pm.   To book please speak to or telephone Jeanette.

Edgcumbe Methodist Church - Sunday, 10th September 7pm - Kerrier Male Voice Choir Concert - Conductor Jeannette Eathorne. This will be the last concert before Edgcumbe Chapel closes.
Monday, 11th Sept, 2.00- 5.00pm - Bucks Head House Garden, TR11 5QR, will be opened on behalf of Edgcumbe Chapel. Proceeds for Chapel Funds.


Bible and Buns at Stithians, 10.30am – 12noon, Monday mornings, 4th September – 2nd October 2023 (except Monday September 18th)

Cornwall and IoS District, Methodist Women in Britain, Autumn District Day, Truro Methodist Church, Tuesday, 19th September, 10.00 – 4.00pm.

 

In our prayers, we continue to hold the following before God: from Falmouth: - Dorothy Penman, Bruce & Shirley Keer, Gwen Dunstan, Gill Wilkinson, Babs Minns, Rose whose good friend Jo has died from Penryn, and all of Jo’s family, and Pastor Jenny Lockwood and family, and the residents and staff of care homes, especially Langholme and the folk at Abbeyfield including Sheila Finch,
