Methodist Women In Britain Cornwall District
Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Methodist Women in Britain experience was held at the Penmorvah Manor Hotel this month, meeting together to share in fun and fellowship. The theme for this year's event was 'Women who encountered Jesus' and Bible studies focused on this theme exploring the amount of women who are named in the Bible and those too who are unnamed and why this is the case. Sessions were led by Revd. Liz Harris and Revd. Jane Willcock; following these sessions we shared in delightful lunches or/and dinners in the relaxing surroundings.
The President, Tracy, shared her concerns around issues affecting women like 'period poverty' and suggested that churches should provide sanitary products for use in all toilet facilities. This was agreed as an excellent idea by all present. A prayer station was dedicated to this issue and members were encouraged to pray on this situation and others impacting the lives of women in our country and wider world today.
An afternoon trip was organised, by Tracy, to a local Prayer Garden and there were book reviews and relaxing social time. A Fair Trade stall and book stall were also available.
