Learning and Caring: A Methodist Way of Life, Lent Course
Learning and Caring: Lent Course
Week 3
Kingdom People
Many of us met again on Zoom for our Lent course today and once we had overcome some technical difficulties, we had a remarkably interesting discussion sharing lots of personal stories about our practise of hospitality and demonstrating generosity to others.
We were asked to consider the following questions:
Have you practised generosity since we last met?
How have you shown hospitality to others recently?
How are you caring for yourself?
How and what are you learning now?
And from the Methodist Way of Life card the points below:
We will care for ourselves and those around us.
We will learn more about our faith.
We will practise hospitality and generosity.
In smaller chat rooms we mulled over the finer points of both the questions and the points above. And in our large group Rev'd Andrew reminded us of Biblical references connected to hospitality, shelter, giving food and healing and the importance of learning in Methodist history as well as today. The session was concluded in prayer by Deacon Jane who reminded us that ‘we are kingdom people.’
If you would like to join us for the next session, then please email Rev'd Andrew and you will be most welcome.
