Guided Prayer Walk

Some of the Eco Group and church members met today for a guided prayer walk through Fox Rosehill Gardens in Falmouth. The prayer walk began with Sarah reading the poem ‘I love to see the Summer’ by the poet John Clare and then proceeded to the first of seven ‘worship stations’ in the garden. At each worship station the group stopped for a Bible verse, to give thanks to God for the sounds in nature, the variety of plant life and trees and pray for our environment. The group also prayed for A Rocha UK & the work of organisations helping to protect endangered species and rare plant life. At other worship stations the group prayed for those who recycle and aim to live with reduced plastic and waste.

The Eco Prayer Walk ended with verses from Genesis and the Psalms ‘Christians acknowledge creation care as an act of discipleship; we are stewards of the earth, summoned by God to ‘work it and take care of it.’
