Notices for 3rd  & 10th March 2024

You are welcome to join us for worship. Our Sunday Services are held at New Street Church Hall, which is in New Street, just behind the Parish Church of King Charles the Martyr. Our services for this month are:

After Sunday services, refreshments are served. Please stay and take the opportunity to have a chat and get to know us better.

Thursday 7th March 10.30am               Mid-week Holy Communion at New Street

Midweek communion at New Street. KCM members will also be invited to join us. A midweek communion service will be held on the first Thursday of each month, being led alternately by a Methodist minister and an Anglican priest, with both congregations warmly invited to join us.

 

                                                                                  Regular activities:

Stitchcraft: meet at the Princess Pavilion every Monday at 2pm. New members’ welcome.

Footsteps Café: Falmouth & Penryn Churches Together coffee morning, Footsteps is held every Thursday in the foyer of Emmanuel Baptist Church from 10-12 noon.  Hot and cold drinks and homemade cakes available.  All are welcome.  

Wednesday Welcome: meets on the first Wednesday in the month and the next meeting will be on March 6th we will meet at Carnon Downs Garden Centre. Following dates are, 3rd April Falmouth Court Care Home, 1st May Flicka Donkey Sanctuary.  Please speak to, or telephone Jeanette to book.

 

Other Notices


Maundy Thursday 28th March 11.30am:  A short service reflecting on the events of Holy Week. This service will be followed by a soup lunch in the downstairs room of New Street Hall. This will replace our Tenebrae Service this year.

 

Revive: Please note that Revive will be at St Day, not Stithians as indicated on the Circuit Plan on 17th March and will be a Lent Prayer Labyrinth with refreshments from 5pm.  

 

Circuit Zoom Prayer Meeting  You are invited to join on the first and third Tuesday of each month - 6.15 for 6.30pm. Revd. Jonathan will email the joining link to 'regulars' but if you would like to join please email Jonathan for the link.

 

Lent Groups: Churches Together in Falmouth and Penryn Lent Course 2024 Women of the Old Testament continues on Wednesdays at 7.00pm and Thursdays at 2.30pm respectively, at King Charles the Martyr Church Falmouth (Choir Vestry). We are studying some of the key women in the Old Testament including Ruth, Abigail, and Esther. Do come and join us. Everyone Welcome.

 

Fair Trade Stall: A large package arrived for me today with lots and lots of olive wood goodies from Bethlehem. My plan is to sell them as "prayer reminders." These will be available at the next Fair-Trade stall. Nona.

Eco Lent Thought:  From A Rocha, Switch off from digital. Explore technology-free times or areas of the house, switching to ‘airplane mode’ for the first hour in the morning and the last hour at night, ‘switch off Sundays’, reaching for your Bible over your device(s) and writing a list of outdoor things that you enjoy.

 

In our prayers, we continue to hold the following before God: from Falmouth: - we pray for, Jane, Moira, Ray Baker, John Cotterell, Sandy White, Hazel’s son Matthew, the Brokenshire Family, Daphne Rundle, Barbara Toyne, Pauline & Peter Cocks, Dorothy Penman, Gwen Dunstan, Gill Wilkinson, and the residents and staff of care homes, especially Langholme and the folk at Abbeyfield.
