‘The Best Venue in Cornwall’ - according to research by a group looking to hire a concert venue in 2019.
Falmouth Methodist Church is a great location for concerts but also offers a variety of spaces, of different sizes and contrasting ambience, suited to all kinds of activities and occasions.
Whenever Wendy shows people around our wonderful building the reaction is always the same - ‘it’s amazing; it has so much to offer; there is SO much space; it’s so welcoming, so clean and well kept; we had no idea such a great place exists right in the middle of Falmouth’.
About the Venue
Falmouth Methodist Church comprises 3 floors:
- Top Floor - The ‘Worship Space’ occupies the whole of the top floor and includes the wonderful stained-glass window featuring ‘The Light of the World’ which, appropriately, looks out across The Moor. In addition to providing the base for our church family to worship and celebrate our faith, this wonderful space is very popular as a concert venue. Offering a mix of separate and fixed seating, the capacity of this flexible space varies according to the nature of the event.
- Middle Floor - The middle floor has the Wesley Hall, a large space with a stage and benefits from having a well equipped kitchen adjacent complete with 3 minute dishwasher.
- Ground Floor - The ground floor provides a variety of spaces leading from the Foyer, including a small room often used for consultations; two halls, a kitchen and chapel - probably the most accessible quiet/meditation space in the town being open daily for 8 months of the year to anyone who feels the need for peace and tranquillity.
Falmouth Methodist Church is currently used by a wide range of organisations and groups. Last year, regular users included community cafés and clubs, a Ukulele group, artists exhibitions (May - October), W.I. meetings; three community choirs; Stitchcraft group; Rainbows, Guides and Cubs; CD/Record fairs and the Repair Cafe. Each year we set up shop for ‘Cards for Good Causes’, host a large number of Coffee Mornings organised to raise awareness of and funds for both local and international causes and many concerts showcasing the talents of Cornish men, women and children often raising funds for vital organisations such as RNLI and Hospice Care.
Despite all that is currently happening at Falmouth Methodist Church we have space available to meet the needs of groups large and small, wanting one off or regular bookings, needing flexible spaces, available from 8.00am till late, seven days a week at reasonable rates.
